Anger, its a paralyzing emotion

"Anger. . .it's a paralyzing emotion. People sort of think its an interesting, passionate, and igniting feeling - I don't think it's any of that - its helpless. . .it's absence of control - and I need all of my skills, all of the control, all of my powers...and anger doesn't provide any of that - I have no use for it whatsoever."
-Toni Morrison

I hope this quote by Toni Morrison changes the way some people in the world look at anger. I have never been an angry person and I don't get upset very often but I see a lot of people that do. Anger is an emotion that wastes a lot of energy. Its unnecessary and overrated. People get upset and then a few weeks later they look back and think, "why was I so upset?" What people fail to realize is that their problems are already solved. I cannot think of a problem in my life that did not get solved in some way, shape, or form. I cannot think of a sad situation that did not pass. Since life goes on, I choose to go on with it.

When you get angry, you are paralyzed, stuck in that position longer than you need to be. You let life pass you by and you miss out on the small moments that make life so beautiful. It takes far more energy to get mad & stay mad than it does to simply let go. Most people want to make a point of something, so they stay upset at someone for an extended period of time. I hate to break it to you, but you being upset is not going to change the way someone else lives their life. It's just going to inconvenience yours. So forgive and move on. I promise you will be much happier and so will the people around you. You being negative only attracts negativity to you. It takes practice and patience but I think everyone has it in them, its just up to each individual to decide to take control of it.
